How to dress up your kids during the festive season

You feel good when you dress up well. The festive season has arrived and the question that comes in everyone’s mind is about what to wear. The same question applies to kids also. After all, they are the biggest charm of any celebration. Many parents try to explore different options to find out what will suit their little ones more as they want them to look cute and cool. Kids should also feel comfortable and happy with what they are wearing. They should not feel dejected in the preparations for the festive seasons and therefore, should be involved especially when finalising their festive attire. 


Making kids ready for festive celebrations is not an easy task. So, here are a few tips for parents on how to dress up their kids in a chic and trendy way.


Comfort first: Your kids’ comfort should be the prime priority. Celebration for kids means running, playing, and having fun. Therefore, do not dress them up with clothes that could make them uncomfortable, or cause irritation or itchiness. It does not mean that you should choose something simple that may not go well with the festive vibe. It is just that the outfit they wear should be stylish as well as comfortable. For instance, choose cute dresses for teens with soft fabrics and the outfit should not contain any harmful material.


Go with Ethnic attires: Festive celebrations in India are incomplete without certain traditions and rituals. The best way to give a traditional touch to your celebrations is by wearing traditional or ethnic outfits. Dress up your children in ethnic attires which look beautiful and at the same time your little ones will get aware of our culture and traditions. For boys, you can choose from kurta dhotis or kurta pyjama sets. For girls, you can opt for Kurti sets, lehengas, sarees etc.


Try different combinations: You can test with different combinations or fusion styles. Fusion styles carry a combination of traditional and contemporary outfits. For girls, it can be wearing fusion lehengas, and jeans with a Kurti and for boys, it can be wearing a traditional jacket with jeans. This gives them a traditional yet contemporary trendsetter look.  


Style up with accessories: Accessories complete the outfit and complement your looks. For girls, there are a lot many things you can choose from like bangles, mang tika, hair clips and bands, necklaces, earnings and so on to complement cute trendy outfits for teens. For boys, you can consider watches, brooches etc. Match the accessories you are choosing with the outfit and they also should not cause any discomfort to your kid.


Ask their opinion: Always involve your little ones while choosing the attires for them This will instil confidence and a sense of decision-making in them. They will also feel happy if they are wearing the outfits of their choice. You can always correct them but at least give them a chance.

Last but not the least, complement their look with a cute hairstyle that will give them an aww-inducing look.
